So how can you tell the difference between a fruit and a vegetable. Its acutally quite simple. It all boils down to the develpoment of the produce. How did it come about, what part of the plant is it? Fruits come from the fertilzation of the of the flower. The flower swells up and produces a fruit. Usually the seeds for next year are held within, but thats not always true. Corn, peas, and beans are examples of friuts, coming from the seeds of the flower. Techincally, many commonly known vegetables are actually fruits. Pumkins, tomatoes, peppers, and squash are examples of fruits mislabeled as veggys. Truely, vegetables are plants that we eat the leaves, stems, or roots. Classics are lettuce, potatoes, and carrots
